Model 1: No adjustment for covariates. Model 2: adjusted for age, gender, and race/ethnicity. Model 3: Adjusted for age, sex, race/ethnicity, alcohol intake, smoking behaviour, education, income poverty, body mass index, waist circumference, systemic immune inflammation, history of hypertension, history of heart disease, and history of diabetes. In subgroup analyses stratified by sex and race/ethnicity and history of diabetes mellitus, models were not adjusted for sex and race/ethnicity and history of diabetes mellitus separately
